Established in 2016, Stokeshouse Boxing Academy (SHBA) is a private training facility located in Stockton, California, dedicated to providing an exceptional boxing program for its students. At SHBA, the focus extends beyond developing natural talent and skill—it emphasizes the importance of discipline, focus, commitment, perseverance, and patience as essential qualities for success.
SHBA is committed to enhancing the traditional boxing experience by integrating lifestyle coaching, scientific principles, and top-tier instruction. This unique approach redefines what it means to be a champion, both in the ring and in life. Through its holistic methods, SHBA empowers individuals to excel not only in the "sweet science" of boxing but also in their personal and professional endeavors outside the gym.
In 2022, Coach Stokes sought to re-purpose a non-profit foundation originally established by him and his wife in 2014. Formerly known as R.Y.S.E. (Resilient Youth Striving for Excellence), the organization evolved into the R.Y.S.E. World Class Boxing Program. This initiative partners with other boxing gyms and coaches to provide crucial financial support through sponsorships, enabling young amateur boxers from low-income and high-risk communities to access transformative opportunities. These include participation in national tournaments, resources for nutrition and weight management, tutoring, community service initiatives, and career development programs.
Additionally, the program emphasizes building character, discipline, and resilience in its participants, fostering personal growth that extends beyond the boxing ring. Through strategic collaborations and community involvement, R.Y.S.E. World Class Boxing aims to break down barriers and create pathways for youth to achieve both athletic and personal excellence.

At Team Stokes, we are proving that greatness isn’t defined by the walls surrounding you but by the dedication, discipline, and passion poured into every moment of training. Just like many world champions who began their journeys in living rooms, garages, and backyards, Diezyl "The Show" Stokes is being built from the ground up, fueled by the same relentless drive and commitment to excellence.
Success in boxing is not about having a state-of-the-art facility—it’s about the quality of coaching, the caliber of athletes you train with, and, most importantly, the unwavering support of a family or circle that believes in your dreams. There are no days off here; this is not just training—it’s a lifestyle.
Coach Stokes extends his expertise to others by offering private training sessions and customized 4, 6, or 8-week camps. These programs are specifically designed to prepare athletes for National ranking tournaments or professional events, equipping them with the skills, conditioning, and strategy needed to excel at the highest levels.
As a former successful amateur boxer, Coach Stokes traines and coaches Diezyl the same way he was coached and raised, instilling the values of hard work, perseverance, and a champion’s mindset. Together, we are crafting a foundation that builds not only a great athlete but also a resilient individual ready to tackle challenges in and out of the ring.
